Ornaments
I cleaned out the drawer in my sewing room last week. Couldn't stand it anymore, and couldn't find anything. Now it is all organized and clean!! Found some old boxes of flashcards that I had bought at a thrift store awhile ago. Sewed two cards back to back and added some fiber edging and a loop. It was fun choosing which cards to use together. Exchanged ornaments with some craft friends. We have been exchanging for 20 some years now.

Last round!
The class has ended. The round robin blocks go back to their originators to be completed (before the next class!) Isn't this a great mural that some volunteers painted in my classroom?

Child's Play
Woke up at 3am and was thinking about my art quilts. It occurred to me that the way I work now is very much like the way I played as a child with paper dolls and those plastic cling shapes that you could make scenes with. I feel so fortunate that even though obligations often interfere, I am still able to play/work at what I love doing.

Round Robins
Someone nice gave me these house blocks. I have shared them with my quilting students and we are doing a round robin process with them. Each week, we exchange the blocks and add a new border. Fun and challenging!!

Faces
This is one of several 'Face' pieces I made using leftovers from helping my sister make drapes. I just doodled a bunch of random faces using my longarm machine, then separated them, painted, embellished, and have been adding borders and binding. Some of them are for sale in the gift shop at the Florida Women's Art Gallery in DeLand, FL.

Gift
I made this quilt this week for someone special. (secret!) Cut strips and arranged pretty randomly. The top went together quickly, and I quilted it the same day. Have attached the binding - just need to sew it down by hand to the back and it will be ready to give.
Have also been working on some art quilts and entered another juried exhibit today!! It's a lot of red tape, but acceptances make it all worthwhile. I'm again linking to http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com/ where there is a link party every Friday among art quilters!http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com/

Link attempt
Going to attempt to link up to another blog where art quilters share their current work each Friday. Hope I do this correctly. http://ninamariesayre.blogspot.com/
Marge
Had a hard time getting motivated today, but I managed to quilt this piece. It's an impression of my mother in law in Hawaii. Her name was Marge. Sadly, she passed before I got to meet her. Anyway, this is Marge before quilting.

Here it is. Post number one. I'm blogging. If I hurry and finish this, I can be sewing.
